FILE 0036 — THE ITEMS — CONTACT LENSES

MATERIAL

A contact lens is a thin, curved lens placed on the film of tears that covers the surface of your eye. The lens itself is naturally clear, but is often given the slightest tinge of colour to make them easier for wearers to handle. Today's contact lenses are either hard or soft.

USES

While contact lenses are very useful for visually impaired people and relatively comfortable, I wonder how they will be in use 100 years in the future. Will they come with enhanced reality, allowing us to be online at the blink of an eye? I don't see that being so far fetched.
